Our philosophy
Multi-Femmes prioritizes a feminist philosophy that seeks to analyze and address various situations of oppression and discrimination faced by women. The team adopts a holistic approach to address the diverse needs of women and their children experiencing domestic violence. In alliance with the women, the provided support is respectful, transparent, and aims to achieve full autonomy. Our approach is rooted in fostering equal relationships and empowering individuals to regain control over their lives. The team aims to improve women’s self-esteem and enhance their social and parenting skills in a safe and confidential environment.
Our values
The egalitarian relationship
A relationship in which the other person is regarded as an equal, and no attempt is made to inferiorize him or her, and the other person’s difference is not used to exert power. A relationship in which the process is just as, if not more, important than its outcome. An egalitarian relationship enables people to express themselves and negotiate for the best of the situation (cooperation), not to satisfy the power of one over the other (unhealthy competition).
Solidarity
A bond of mutuality and reciprocity that develops between individuals or groups of individuals based on a common interest.
The alliance
Ability and desire to share one’s analysis, a desire to develop a bond of mutual trust that promotes autonomy and empowerment, enabling a genuine interest in the other person despite and beyond their apparent reactions.
Transparency
Quality of expressing the truth without distorting it, ensuring visibility and clarity in rules, policies, and procedures, and ensuring understanding of each person’s roles and responsibilities.
Respect
A sentiment that leads to valuing women, recognizing them as individuals with worth and dignity, and considering them as inherently acceptable and valuable just as they are.
Cooperation
A genuine interest in our own needs and rights and those of others, with the aim of developing the most egalitarian relationships possible. Cooperation is a value, a way of being and doing, designed to counteract the dominant social values of individualism, competition, performance and over-consumption. To achieve this, the cooperative applies the following rules: no secrets, no lies, no power plays, no rescues.
Autonomy
Acquiring and developing personal, individual and collective power. Autonomy means experiencing a decision-making process that requires awareness and reflection, and that leads to coherent, constructive and sustainable action.
The freedom
The absence of any physical or moral constraints on our will; it is the expression of our independent will, free from any external influences. To be free is to be able to do what we want, to act according to our own will and to refuse submission to any external cause or command.
Social justice
The pursuit of a certain economic equality. The value has gone far beyond the economic and egalitarian theme. Social justice must also address the prevention or reduction of the great evils produced, among other things, by machismo, racism, xenophobia, and homophobia.
